I wouldn't print them on Bristol. The shaded areas would infringe on your printable area and cover things inappropriately with big blocks of gray (or color if you've got a color printer)
You could print them on a scrap sheet and lightbox-trace them in light pencil, though.
For actual pages, I just measure out the borders myself in light, erasable pencils. I mean, it's amazing what you can do with a ruler, right?
For these templates, I use them once I've scanned in my pages to ensure it's all consistent. My hand-drawn pages are measured the same as the templates, so once I open the PSD file, I drag my scanned artwork over. That way I can see what the trimmed version is going to look like add in the proper area.
